About Geist Plastics

About Geist Plastics Geist Mfg was founded in Lincoln, NE in 1948 under the name Winders and Geist.

The company began developing cord covers and electrical conduit during the late 1940's and 1950's. Geist branched out into other electrical products during the next few decades.

In the 1980's, at the request of farm equipment manufacturers, Geist began to produce a variety of plastic irrigation products and moved into center pivot irrigation accessories in the mid 1990s.

In the late 1990's, Geist began to develop a range of industrial power strips for use in data-center cabinets. With the development of the US technology industry, particularly internet related and corporate data-centers, Geist's power and monitoring products grew to over 250 base units with thousands of configuration options.

PCE, a privately held corporation, acquired Geist in 1997 and immediately invested the necessary resources needed to take the company to its next stage of development for both its plastic extrusion processes and data-center products.

By 2004, it became apparent that the company was rapidly developing in two related but separate directions and the decision was made to begin to split the division into two autonomous units.Geist Plastics

In 2007, Geist 'Plastics' vacated the Geist 'Mfg' building and moved into a custom designed 24,000 square foot extrusion facility. The company is located in Lincoln's Airpark with easy access to a variety of shipping partners.

Sister divisions, Geist Manufacturing, Geist Contract, Geist Metal Works and IT Watchdogs combine their expertise to bring cutting edge data-center power and monitoring products to the world’s biggest data driven companies.
